Volkswagen Golf R : An enthusiasts journal: 21/08/2011 - Golf GTI / Golf R32 / Golf R Photoshoot

I had asked Christina and Christophe earlier in the year about the possibility of all three of ours cars having a photoshoot together, as that would include a white Golf R, a white Golf R32 and a white Passat R36 wagon. They were definitely keen to do a shoot and we set a time and date, but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, Christophe had to pull out, which left just me and Christina.

Christina's R32 is special. There are a few things which make it unique. Firstly, not many R32's were sold in Candy White. It can be seen as a limited edition colour somewhat. Next, the path she chose to modify her R32 involve mainly JDM parts. GruppeM, Alpil, Project Kics, Newing and of course, Kreissieg. The Kreissieg exhaust is noteworthy because it's the only Kreissieg catback exhaust for the R32 here in Australia. She was the first to have it imported directly from Japan. And on top of that, this R32 is being daily driven by a girl! How sick is that? She's reppin' the girls hard with this R32 and she's modding her car better than some guys! She recently had air suspension system installed and is the first MKV R32 in Australia to have air suspension and soon enough, she will have her new set of shoes : 19" Work Meister 3 piece wheels. Personally, I can't wait to see them. It will definitely be something else!

Aural harmony. Oh how I wished VW still retained the 3.2L V6 engine for the Golf R. Damn emission laws...

Justin came along today as well and he was our photographer for today. The weather wasn't kind to us as it was alternating from cloudy to rainy every few minutes or so. But we persevered and these were the snaps that made it. Credit to Justin Fox for taking these pictures.

Justin's MKV GTI. This car is very much function over form as he built it with a track focus. But having said that, it looks tough as nuts too!
